• aspirin
• ibuprofen

Follow the dosing directions on the package. Contact your physician right away if you experience any problems. Note: Aspirin substitutes do not reduce swelling.

Ice Massage Blocks nerve impulses thereby reducing pain, reducing swelling and alleviating back spasms Helpful for back spasms and pain relief in your shoulders, neck and back. The ice creates numbness which throttles back nerve impulses.
How to give an ice massage: Using a gentle circular motion, massage the area in spasm or pain with a piece of ice. Continue for up 7 minutes.
Knee to Chest Stretch Restores mobility and reduces spasms While lying on your back, raise your knees up to your chest. Maintain position for one minute. Alternative: Raise one knee at time and repeat with the other leg.
Back Stretch Restores mobility, alleviates pressure and reduces spasms The simple stretch starts with you on your hand and knees. Slowly arch your back to its fullest extension, hold for a moment, then slowly bring it back down. Repeat 5-10 times. Repeat regularly throughout the day.
